Okay, ladies, let's get real. Peri-menopause. It's a phrase that sounds vaguely medical and slightly terrifying, right? And something I had paid no attention to at all in my late 30’s. Well, guess what? It snuck up on me way earlier than expected and hit me like a train overnight. Irregular periods, hot flashes and mood swings that took me deeper than I had ever been before.

I tried hard not to let this hormonal rollercoaster take me down. So, I started to use the learning and experience I already had to navigate this path.

And whist breathwork and reiki does and did help, the thing that most helped me? Was to be seen…the power of sisterhood comes in. Being with other women and knowing you are not alone, you are not going crazy was the magic bullet (well, not bullet, more like energy uplifter!) that contributed hugely to me reclaiming my sanity and feel like myself again.

The power of women. Seriously, ladies, we need each other. Finding a supportive circle of women going through the same thing, Pure gold. Sharing experiences, swapping tips, and just knowing you're not alone – it's a game-changer.

Breathwork. There's more to breathing than just staying alive. Specific breathing exercises can calm your nervous system, which means those hot flashes don't feel quite so apocalyptic.

Sound Healing. It might sound a little woo-woo, but it does have scientific explanation. Our brainwaves naturally synchronise with external rhythms. Sound frequencies can guide our brain into relaxed states (alpha or theta), promoting stress reduction and relaxation. Sound waves can impact cellular activity by influencing ion channels and promoting healthy cell function.

You are definitely not alone.

Need a place to start with breathwork or sound healing? Check out Breathe In Sound (www.breatheinsound.com) – I will be building a specific event for women to come together to shake out our bodies, chant, breathe, relax and come together and share… watch this space!
